   Built in 1981 as a freshwater  reservoir  to supply the North Finistere  area,  lac du Drennec is a 110 ha , 8,5 millions cubic meter stillwater,  with a 20m maximum depth  and a 10 km bank.   It is one of the best trout water in Brittany and in France . The lake is managed by the Elorn AAPPMA ( Fishing Club open to all)
 You can fish with  lures, bait or  flies for rainbow and brown trout

Brown trout:are only  from the local wild stock spawning in the streams feeding the lake.

 Rainbow: they are bred and raised in the local fish farm  located below the dam. Per year about 8000 rainbow (up to 2kg) are stocked in the lake.
 Plus a good  stock of minnows, roaches, no pike or perch

 
 2007 Tariff: 
    You can freely fish in the lake if you are a member of the  l'AAPPMA de l'Elorn . Fishing is open every day from mid-March to mid-September  (Mid october  flyfishing only)
Size limit is 30cm , one can keep 4 fish/day and 50 per year. 
 If you are not a Member you can buy a  fishing permit:  (But you must be a member of a French AAPPMA)
